Lercher Werkzeugbau in Klaus, Vorarlberg, is today known in particular for plastic injection molding and prototype series. The company was founded in 1979 and is a second-generation family business. Today, the company, which now also has high-performance injection molding capacities as a second mainstay in addition to injection molding toolmaking, has more than 135 employees. With the steadily growing number of employees and customers, those responsible have also continuously invested in additional machines and peripherals - both in toolmaking and in plastic injection molding.

Plastic injection molding in different technologies

The plastic injection molding department at Lercher Werkzeugbau came into being step by step - it started with a sampling machine that made it possible to implement sampling quickly and unbureaucratically. In the meantime, this has become a complex department that fills the entire upper floor of the company building in Klaus. High-performance injection molding machines, each with very specific properties, are available for a wide variety of production tasks and a wide variety of plastic parts. The clamping forces of the machines range from 60 to 500 tons. Parts can be injection molded with weights ranging from 2 g (roughly the weight of a match) to 1000 g. The plastics experts can process all thermoplastics from ASA to POM to PA. Foaming using blowing agents during injection molding is also part of the moldmakers' repertoire. The result: no sink marks and a uniform, clean look even on large visible parts.

Prototype series for large-scale production

At Lercher Werkzeugbau, those responsible for protoseries follow the philosophy of breaking down from mass production instead of extrapolating from prototyping. This generates small-series products that are also practically not prototypes, but products that are already ready for series production and the market. And if required, the specialists can also produce these very quickly in large series. After all, the production concept is already based on the background from mass production. Lercher Werkzeugbau produces the parts for the small series on the mass production lines and also in the original plastic. This applies to small batches of up to 10,000 pieces, which the specialists produce at interesting prices within five weeks.
